Lumines Lighting is a brand of LED Labs SA, a Polish manufacturer of LED lighting. For 18 years the company has designed and produced linear LED lighting made to any size in Poland and ships it to more than 50 countries. The offer spans over 3,400 products: aluminum LED profiles, magnetic and three-phase track systems and accessories, in an extensive structure of series and applications. Its audience is architects, designers, installers and trade partners, and every system is tested in three LED Labs laboratories.
Challenge
The starting point was meant to be a new website. During the work it became clear that the scale of the offer and the way the audience works called not for a website, but for a product platform where the customer finds the right profile and a complete set of materials on their own.
Hundreds of products in a complex structure
- The offer spans many series and categories, from mini and furniture profiles, through architectural ones, to magnetic and three-phase track systems.
- Each product is described by dozens of technical attributes: mounting method and technique, application, color variants, lengths, accessories, installation diagrams.
- Without effective search and filters, reaching the right model was tedious and differences between series were hard to compare.
B2B work went beyond an ordinary website
- An architect needs to assemble and compare profiles, gather materials for a project and download documentation.
- Installers and trade partners need quick access to files, catalogs and technical data.
- Access to part of the resources had to be controlled and tied to specific zones.
Image and growth
- The online communication did not convey the company's position as a manufacturer with its own laboratories and proprietary solutions.
- From the outset the project was to be prepared for an English version and further expansion.
Project goal
Design and deliver a platform that:
- organizes an extensive offer and guides the user from application to a specific product,
- gives architects and installers real tools: search, filters, wishlist, comparison and file access,
- controls access to materials through zones and B2B user accounts,
- lets the Lumines team independently manage content, products and messages,
- is fast, secure, SEO-optimized and ready for an EN version.
Catalog, search and configurator
The heart of the project is the way a user searches, configures and assembles products. We built it as one coherent system, not a set of separate pages.
LED profile search with live preview
The central tool is a search for LED systems and profiles that suggests results as you type. After the first letters, the panel shows matching products in real time, grouped by category and system, with a thumbnail and a link to the full list.
- Live preview of results, matching both the full name and a fragment, e.g. "Profile A" or "strada".
- Results shown in the context of their group (Mini & furniture, Archi, Mounting, Accessories, Track systems), not as a flat list.
- Product thumbnails and a "More" link leading to the full category.
Browsing by application and series
- A "Browse by" toggle: applications or series, matched to how an architect and installer think.
- The full offer map in one panel: LED profiles (mini & furniture, architectural, mounting, accessories) and track systems (magnetic, three-phase, mounting elements).
- A quick path from an application (e.g. drywall, façade, stair, glass, drive-over) to a specific profile.
Dynamic filters
- Filters controlled from the backend, with a decision on which groups are open by default.
- Filtering by mounting method and technique, application, parameters and series.
- Filters split into separate blocks for different product categories.
Product page
- Dynamic grouping of technical data and attributes managed from the panel, with no hard-coding.
- Expandable installation diagrams, accessory sections, color variants and available lengths, including a "made to order" option.
- A clear "Ask about the product" CTA that routes an inquiry without leaving the product context.
Fixture configurator (K3D)
- From the product page the user moves to the 3D configurator (K3D) via the "Configure" button to build a fixture to size.
- Configuring and requesting a quote are wired into a single buying path, instead of scattered forms.
- An architect goes from finding a profile, through configuration, to gathering project materials in one place.
Wishlist and comparison
- A wishlist collecting products from different categories in one place.
- A comparison engine working within a single category, detecting conflicts and asking to clear before starting a new comparison.
- Moving products from the wishlist to comparison, separate buttons on cards and PDF export of the comparison.
Where to buy: distributors and points of sale
- A search for partners and points of sale that helps the customer find the nearest one, with contact details.
- A distributor database updated by spreadsheet import, with no manual data entry.
- A shorter path from discovering a product to buying it from the right partner.
B2B system: access, files, automation
The platform handles the real workflow around materials, not just their presentation. This is the layer that sets it apart from an ordinary product site.
Accounts and access zones
- User registration with administrator approval and email activation.
- Account creation by an administrator with access assigned to selected zones, permission editing and password reset.
- Dedicated zones with separate content: architect (inspirations and project materials), installer (instructions, catalogs, technical data) and B2B (sales resources), visible depending on permissions.
- A client panel after login: access to assigned zones, materials and the user's own downloads in one place.
File library and on-demand packages
Instead of a plain list we built a materials library that works like a packaging tool. After logging in, the user sees resources based on their role and assembles their own package.
- A library organized by type: technical documentation, product graphics and photos, visualizations, 3D files, video and catalogs.
- Selecting any items (a "Selected files" panel) and assembling a custom package across categories.
- The package is built server-side into a ZIP archive, without loading the browser.
- Delivery in a WeTransfer-like model: when a package is too large, packaging and the email download link are triggered automatically after login.
- Access depends on role and zone (architect, installer, B2B), unlocked after login.
- Import of materials and data from spreadsheets, organizing hundreds of files (profiles, accessories, icons, dimensions).
Communication automation
- Transactional emails for key statuses: registration, account approval or rejection, package readiness, expiring-access reminder.
- Message content managed from the CMS, in a graphic style consistent with the site.
- Resolving an email deliverability issue at the DNS level, including mail-authentication records.
SEO, performance and security
We prepared the platform to be visible in search, fast and resilient against common threats.
SEO and structure
- A URL structure based on product silos, with the product type in the path.
- Correct heading semantics, canonical tags, an XML sitemap and submission to Google Search Console.
- Image optimization in WebP, protection against indexing thin content and 301 redirects.
Performance
- CSS and JS minification, PHP 8.4 compatibility, a grade A performance result in GTmetrix.
- SSL and HTTPS redirects, plus uptime monitoring of the site.
Security
- An application firewall with rules blocking common attack vectors and bots impersonating Google.
- WordPress hardening: changed table prefix, XML-RPC blocking, disabled PHP editing from the panel, hidden system signatures, frame-embedding protection.
- Secured login and registration, with account approval required before access.
Outcome and business value
Instead of a static website, Lumines received a platform where a complex offer becomes searchable and B2B work happens in one place.
The most important changes:
- hundreds of products organized into a clear, searchable structure of series and applications,
- architects and installers have real tools: filters, wishlist, comparison and access to documentation,
- dedicated B2B zones (architect, installer) with separate content and a client panel after login,
- a "where to buy" search guiding the customer to the nearest distributor,
- controlled access to materials through B2B accounts and zones,
- an automated flow of files and messages, without manual package handling,
- full team autonomy in managing products, content and messages,
- a solid SEO, performance and security foundation, and readiness for the English version.
Takeaways
The Lumines project was the build of a product system, not a website redesign. During the work the scope deliberately evolved: from a website to a platform with search, filters, wishlist, comparison, access zones and file downloads.
The result is a B2B platform for an LED lighting manufacturer that combines the product catalog and profile search, a fixture configurator, tools for architects and installers, and a file library in one coherent, extensible system.
