nazwa.pl DNS anycast - additional fee for domain name

While working on nazwa.pl servers of a popular domain registration company, the website suddenly stops working. After checking all technical aspects, it turns out that the customer has not paid for an additional service offered by nazwa.pl. The issue in question is DNS ANYCAST. As it turned out, the problem affects a very large group of customers who registered their domains coming from outside nazwa.pl on nazwa.pl servers. Anycast dns is theoretically a site accelerator, however, if there are any more it's a mile a second. Is it worth it ? .

Nazwa.pl – dns anycast

That is, the popular anycast dns hosting. Nowadays, the issue is already familiar to every company and hosting.

While the company has long talked about the revolution it has brought by speeding up websites and offering a secure SSL protocol to its users, by far, ANYCAST's DNS charge has caused a much bigger revolution, and mentions of the company can be found on many websites and industry forums. Unfortunately, these mentions are unlikely to be positive. Customers who have purchased hosting, but have their domains from other sources are confused and practically overnight deprived of a working website.

It turns out that the fee "is not mandatory, but necessary," a company representative says online. All domains that are on nazwa.pl's DNS servers, but come from other providers are to be excluded for no DNS ANYCAST fee. As a result, customers:

  • pay for servers
  • pay for the domain with the provider
  • once again pay for the domain to run on DNS ANYCAST

DNS domain configuration - what exactly is involved?

Customers who have a domain or domains that come from a registrar other than nazwa.pl, such as ovh.pl / home.pl / az.pl etc.. and are configured to direct to nazwa.pl servers by editing DNS1 and DNS2, must pay an additional 61.5 gross for such an operation. In addition to the fact that this is, to say the least, an awkward action on the part of Name, legally it is simply a unilateral change in the terms of the contract during its term, without obtaining permission for such a change from the other party to the contract.

The domain is maintained on nazwa pl servers problem

Often this is a problem described as nazwa.pl does not work or the domain is maintained on name.pl servers problem. It's not quite as we see it because it's about specific domain and server settings but skipping the classic nazwa.pl dns change.

Basic dns nazwa.pl

The basic settings that you have listed so far in the domain configuration after dns in name are :

  • ns1.nazwa.pl – IP: 77.55.125.10
  • ns2.nazwa.pl – IP: 77.55.126.10
  • ns3.nazwa.pl – IP: 77.55.127.10

Those who have problems with the settings could very easily contact nazwa.pl chat, although at the moment the remaining contact is email or the hotline.

Different domain configuration

Users who want information on whether they can nevertheless maintain their domains without transferring them, while giving up DNS ANYCAST and using regular DNS have no such information. One should search the Internet for a solution. The options it provides are:

  • transfer the domain to us (even if it is cheaper somewhere else);
  • Pay to maintain a foreign domain on DNS ANYCAST;
  • if you don't pay the domain we'll turn it off (our situation)

Solving the domain configuration problem

The solution to the problem is very simple, configure the settings of the domain registered with an external provider according to the recipe below.  This works for nazwa.pl, home.pl and rather most other service providers.

The following solution prevents it from being turned off and makes everything continue to work smoothly even without incurring a fee that is not understood by customers. Edit the domain configuration in the registrar's panel from DNS settings we change to advanced configuration and edit the domain's A records and MX records (for email) respectively.

Domain recoders - the way to DNS anycast

domena.pl –record A - IP address of the server

www.domena.pl – record A - IP address of the server

domena.pl – record MX – 1 mail.domena.pl

mail.twojadomena.pl – record A - IP address of the server

ftp.domena.pl – record A - IP address of the server

lub ftp.domena.pl – record record CNAME – domena.pl

CNAME records for email :

smtp.domena.pl – record CNAME – domena.pl

imap.domena.pl – record CNAME – domena.pl

pop3.domena.pl – record CNAME – domena.pl

Limitations introduced on nazwa.pl can be circumvented

So if IP addresses are entered in the website configuration instead of DNS name.pl then everything will work correctly. The changes must be made with the domain operator. The restrictions introduced by nazwa.pl can be bypassed, but it is probably a matter of time.
